Summer/Fall 2024

Honors Thesis and University Scholars Program

I am currently developing a research project to study the physics of 2-phase flow in microchannels. My current idea is to conduct a parametric study to explore macro-to-microchannel transtion and the properties of 2-phase flow (e.g. bubble tip radius, speed, liquid film thickness) under different experimentation conditions. The parametric study involves varying the liquid/air flow rates, the channel diameter, and the type of liquid.

Spring 2024

UF MAE Poster Competition

Using my own data and figures developed by Dr. Adam Kriz and Stephanie Moore, I created a poster on my work in NESLabs for the departmental Spring 2024 poster competition. I won 3rd place! (rightmost person in the image)

Fall 2023

Device Fabrication in the NRF

At UF's Nanoscale Research Facility (NRF), I created components for Stephanie's experimental setup. Using state-of-the-art equipment, I sliced sensor chips (shown to the left), created silicone PDMS molds, soldered custom circuit boards, and tested circuitry.

Fall 2023

Manufacturing Device Components

To enhance Stephanie's experimental setup, I designed and manufactured custom components. I created an aluminum pillar heater using a micro-CNC/mill, and a plastic circuit board support structure (shown to the right) using a waterjet. These improvements are in-use today in NESLabs.
